35 8th-grade students enrolled in Charles City County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 35 8th-grade students enrolled in Charles City County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 16.7% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Charles City County High School was the only school that welcomed 8th-grade students in the county.

Within Charles City County schools, the largest number of students were found in kindergarten, while 11th-grade had the least students.

Statewide, Charles City County ranked 129th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 129th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
