How many students were enrolled in Charles City County schools for 2023-24 school year?

There were 530 students enrolled in Charles City County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 5.7% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Charles City County comprised 51.1% boys, with girls representing the remaining 48.9%.

Data also showed that Black or African American students made up 48.5% of the student body, the largest percentage in Charles City County schools, followed by white students with 29.2%, 3.8% American Indian or Alaskan Native students and 3.2% Hispanic students.

Charles City County Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Charles City County's two schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 315 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
