There were 668 white students enrolled in Mathews County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 9.1% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Mathews County Public Schools District welcomed 841 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, white students comprised 79.4% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the school.
