There’s a critical need for nurses in the RCC region and across the state. Recognizing this need, RCC established the Catherine Courtney Endowed Nursing Professorship. Named in honor of RCC’s first nursing program director Catherine Courtney, the fund supports a faculty position so we can train more health care professionals to work in our community. Adding more nursing faculty equals more trained nurses caring for us and our loved ones.
RCC’s service region contains the four top most aged counties in Virginia resulting in more health care facilities requiring more nurses to demands. Endowing a nursing professorship position will increase RCC’s ability to train more nurses each year.
