WATER PLANT OPERATOR  The City of Radford is seeking an Operator for our Water Treatment Plant. This position is open to all trainees up to a Class I Operator. The successful candidate performs intermediate skilled work operating a water treatment plant, makes regular inspections of plant and equipment to ascertain that it is operating properly at all times, reads meters, gauges and dials and keeps logs of readings, and performs minor maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance duties. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by on-the-job and formal instruction in water treatment plant operations and extensive experience in the operation of a water plant.   Applications may be obtained on the City’s website, www.radfordva.gov and returned to Human Resources, 10 Robertson Street, Radford, VA24141. For consideration submit a fully completed City of Radford application and a copy of your resume. Successful completion of drug screen and background check is a must. The City of Radford offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications, class of operator and experience (salary range is $35,672 – $50,000/annually); an excellent benefits package that includes 100% employer paid single health insurance with no deductible along with retirement benefits through VRS.
