How many students were enrolled in King and Queen County schools for 2023-24 school year?

There were 855 students enrolled in King and Queen County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.3% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in King and Queen County comprised 50.1% boys, with girls representing the remaining 49.9%.

Data also showed that white students made up 46.8% of the student body, the largest percentage in King and Queen County schools, followed by Black or African American students with 30.6%, 7.5% Hispanic students and 1.9% Asian students.

Lawson-Marriott Elementary School had the highest enrollment among King and Queen County's three schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 303 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
