King William County Education: 2,946 students were enrolled in 2023-24 school year

There were 2,946 students enrolled in King William County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 1.8% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in King William County comprised 50.7% boys, with girls representing the remaining 49.3%.

Data also showed that white students made up 73.9% of the student body, the largest percentage in King William County schools, followed by Black or African American students with 13.7%, 4.2% Hispanic students and 1.4% American Indian or Alaskan Native students.

King William High School had the highest enrollment among King William County's six schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 678 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
