252 students were enrolled for 3rd-grade in New Kent County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 252 3rd-grade students enrolled in New Kent County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 10.5% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 3rd-grade students in the county was New Kent Elementary School.

Within New Kent County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, New Kent County ranked 68th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 72nd the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
