87 students were enrolled for 7th-grade in Middlesex County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 87 7th-grade students enrolled in Middlesex County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 7.4% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

St. Clare Walker Middle School was the only school that welcomed 7th-grade students in the county.

Within Middlesex County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Middlesex County ranked 114th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 114th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
