2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 58 pre-kindergarten students welcomed in King and Queen County schools

There were 58 pre-kindergarten students enrolled in King and Queen County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 7.4% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of pre-kindergarten students in the county was Lawson-Marriott Elementary School.

Within King and Queen County schools, the largest number of students were found in 4th-grade, while 12th-grade had the least students.

Statewide, King and Queen County ranked 122nd in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 123rd the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
