19 American Indian students enrolled in Gloucester County Public Schools District in 2023-24 school year

There were 19 American Indian students enrolled in Gloucester County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 20.8% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Gloucester County Public Schools District welcomed 5,016 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.4% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.

Gloucester County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Gloucester County and has a main office in Gloucester.

Among the eight schools in Gloucester County Public Schools District, Petsworth Elementary School and Gloucester High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
