Public Hearings - Zoning Text Amendment and Conditional Use Permit

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TAKE NOTICE that the Waynesboro City Council will hold Public Hearings on Monday, January 9 at 7:00 P.M. in City Council Chambers, Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building, 503 W. Main Street, Waynesboro, VA to receive public comment on the following:

A zoning text amendment request by Dana Mares, to amend City Code Chapter 98 (Zoning Ordinance) to add a new primary use for temporary special events. This use is intended for temporary, small-scale special events that may occur at more frequent intervals such as workshops, seminars, weddings, private parties, and other similar activities. These events may be held by non-profit organizations or for-profit businesses multiple times a year with each event typically lasting one (1) day or up to three (3) days. Temporary special events would be permitted by a conditional use permit in all zoning districts.

A conditional use permit request by David Elmore of Elmore Properties, LLC, to modify the build-to requirement in the C-B (Central Business) District for a property located at 222 S. Wayne Ave., Waynesboro, Tax Map No. 45-2-21.

The meeting will be broadcast on the Waynesboro City Council YouTube channel. Citizens who do not wish to attend in person may submit comments by emailing planning@ci.waynesboro.va.us or calling 540.942.6604. Comments submitted in writing will be read during the public hearing.
