The City is excited to announce that the new section of Hope Drive (Wilson Blvd to Papermill Rd) will open on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 following a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony is open to the public and will be held at 11 am at the intersection Hope Drive and Wilson Blvd.
“We are excited to finally open this new connector road between Valley Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road,” stated Perry Eisenach, Public Services Director. “It’s been a long and uncomfortable wait for us all, and we greatly appreciate everyone’s patience throughout this important project.”
The $8.3 M project began on January 11, 2021, and accomplished the following:
- Extended Hope Drive to Pleasant Valley
- Realigned Papermill Road to connect with Hope Drive
- Improved stormwater infrastructure
- Repaved both Hope and affected section of Papermill
