Update on City Residential Curbside Collection Service

38

City of Charlottesville issued the following announcement on Jan. 6

City residential curbside trash and recycling service resumed on Thursday, January 6th.

Residential Trash

Our contractor is now conducting schedule residential Thursday routes as normal, and is currently planning on providing service Friday.  Friday's service status is subject to change depending on how the anticipated weather event progresses and the impact on travel conditions for roadways.  Normal residential trash collection service will resume on Monday, January 10th.  Those residents with missed collections this week who have purchased an annual decal will not have to tag additional overflow when service is resumed for them next week.

Residential Recycling

Our contractor currently plans to provide make-up recycling service for missed service this week by handling the normal recycling schedule for next week, as well as the missed routes from this week.

Trash Disposal Alternatives

City residents are able to take trash for disposal at the Ivy Material Utilization Center, but there is an associated fee for City residents with this service.
