Impacts of Final 2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Payment Rates

36

American College of Radiology Association Pac issued the following announcement on Jan. 7

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) has prepared impact tables that expose how the 2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) final rule affects specific radiology-related tests and procedures. The final payment rates reflect a 3% increase to the conversion factor that Congress passed as part of the Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act, as well as adjustments to the clinical labor pricing input updates that will be phased in over four years.

The tables cover specific changes in reimbursement rates between 2021 and 2022 for each Current Procedural Terminology® (CPT) code. The analysis includes spreadsheets for the 70,000 series CPT codes and the non-70,000 CPT codes billed by radiologists, interventional radiologists and/or radiation oncologists.

Questions about the MPFS proposed rule impacts should be directed to Katie Keysor, ACR Senior Director of Economic Policy.
