Blue Ridge Community College issued the following announcement on July 14

James R. Rasmussen and Mark A. Isabelli were both recently appointed to the Board of Trustees at Blue Ridge Community College. 

Rasmussen, appointed by the Henderson County Commissioners for a four-year term, is CEO of Morrow Insurance Agency in Hendersonville. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. Rasmussen also serves as president of the Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development Board of Directors. 

Isabelli works as a financial advisor for Edward Jones Investments in Hendersonville and lives in Transylvania County. He attended St. Leo University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Isabelli was appointed by the Transylvania County Commissioners, also for a four-year term. Isabelli also serves on the Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation Board of Directors where he just completed his third year as president.

Recently reappointed trustees include John B. “Chip” Gould by the Henderson County Commissioners and Betty A. Gash and Cathy P. Childress by the Henderson County Board of Public Education.

Fourteen Trustees serve Blue Ridge Community College, all of whom are appointed: four by the Governor of North Carolina, four by the Henderson County Board of Commissioners, four by the Henderson County Board of Public Education, and two by the Transylvania County Commissioners. Trustees establish Blue Ridge Community College policy, approve the annual budget, and advocate for the College and its mission.

Currently serving on the Board of Trustees are Vivian A. Bolaños; Cathy P. Childress; Steven R. Dozier; Dr. H. Clay Eddleman; Betty A. Gash; Dr. Jeremy R. Gibbs, Vice Chairman; John B. “Chip” Gould, Chairman; Mark A. Isabelli; Nathan R. Kennedy; P. Kelly Leonard; Michael H. Pressley; James R. Rasmussen; Dr. Brian I. Weaver; and Richard G. “Duke” Woodhull, Jr. Blue Ridge Community College Student Government Association President serves as an ex-officio member of the Board.
