Personal property and real estate taxes in New Kent County are due by December 5, 2025. Residents who have not yet received their tax bill are encouraged to contact the Treasurer’s Office at 804-966-9615.
Tax payments can be made through several methods. Payments sent by mail must be postmarked by the deadline and addressed to the New Kent County Treasurer’s Office at PO Box 109, New Kent, VA 23124. In-person payments are accepted at the Treasurer’s Office located at 12007 Courthouse Circle, Room 208, New Kent, VA, Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Credit card payments can be made by calling 1-888-892-0052 or visiting the county website.
Payments may also be made at Citizens & Farmers Bank branches in Quinton, Providence Forge, Norge, and West Point. However, changes cannot be made to bills at these locations and full payment is required.
The Treasurer’s Office noted that “real estate and personal property tax payments can be made at any time throughout the year.” Making pre-payments will reduce the amount due on December 5th. New Kent County has seen growth in its public school system as well. The only school district in the county enrolled a total of 3,536 students during the 2023-24 school year, which was an increase of 2.9% over the previous year. Among these schools, New Kent High School had the highest enrollment with 1,116 students. The largest ethnic group was white students with 2,584 enrolled (73.1%), followed by Black students with 414 (11.7%). For pre-kindergarten education, Quinton Elementary School enrolled the most pre-K students with 43, accounting for just over half of all pre-kindergarteners in county schools.
