New Kent County extends property tax deadline following office delay

0Comments

The due date for 2025 real estate and personal property tax payments in New Kent County has been extended to Monday, December 8, 2025. The extension comes after a delayed opening of county offices on Friday, December 5, which will now open at 10 a.m.

Residents have several options for making their payments. Payments can be mailed to the New Kent County Treasurer’s Office at PO Box 109, New Kent, VA 23124, provided they are postmarked by December 5. In-person payments are accepted at the Treasurer’s Office located at 12007 Courthouse Circle, Room 208, during regular business hours from Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Credit card payments can be made by calling 1-888-892-0052 or through the county website. Payments are also accepted at Citizens & Farmers Bank branches in Quinton, Providence Forge, Norge and West Point; however, no changes can be made at these locations and bills must be paid in full.

The Treasurer’s Office notes that real estate and personal property tax payments may be made throughout the year. Pre-payments can help reduce the balance due each December. For more information or assistance with tax payments, residents may contact the Treasurer’s Office by phone at 804-966-9615 or via email.

New Kent County Public Schools District is the only school district serving the area and enrolled a total of 3,536 students during the 2023-24 school year.
