Medicare Advisory Panel Holds Meeting About HOPPS Proposed Rule

American College of Radiology Association Pac issued the following announcement on Sept. 3

The Medicare Advisory Panel on Hospital Outpatient Payment (HOP Panel) met recently to discuss the 2022 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS) proposed rule. During the meeting the public was able to present to the panel.

The HOP Panel advises the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the administrator of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) about the clinical integrity of the Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) groups and their associated weights, and the appropriate supervision level for hospital outpatient services.

During the meeting, the HOP Panel voted on recommendations based on the public presentations. These recommendations will be available on the HOP Panel website .
