APD Investigates First Homicide of the Year

On Wednesday Morning March 23, 2022, the Alexandria Police Department received a call for service at approximately 6:50 a.m. in the 4500 Block of Raleigh Avenue for a person who was lying in the bushes and unresponsive.

Upon arrival officers discovered, Elijah Williams, 25 years of age, City of Alexandria resident deceased on the sidewalk near one of the residences in the area.   The Medical Examiner ruled this death a homicide due to upper body trauma.

This is the first homicide in Alexandria this year.
